About the Author

Angela Colson is a registered psychologist with tertiary qualifications in counselling, along with a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Hons.). Her recent research explores the barriers to using psychological services for Australians experiencing chronic pain, which was awarded the National Psychology Prize by the Australian Psychological Society.

She was awarded dux in her undergraduate program, and has received a continuing scholarship, in addition to first place in both the people's choice and best student research at the 2020 ACAP Conference.

Angela previously founded The Burma Project, focussing on delivery of sustainable community development projects and education in Myanmar.

Angela has a passion for using evidence based practice to help people understand themselves better in order to lead their most fulfilling life possible. She runs a private practice in the Sutherland Shire, and currently offers telehealth services across the country.

Her areas of interest are grief & loss, trauma, PTSD, men's mental health, anxiety and core values/goal setting and management of ADHD symptoms in adults.

Her therapeutic modalities include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Committment Therapy, and Schema Therapy.
